Need help identifying military airfield objects

Featured Replies

I´m actually working on LSMD for P3D5, enhancing the default one. The airfield is still in use but the military has not much operations there anymore. So the state of the default airfield is without any parking spot. Adding a few details I came across this strange object (right side) on the ground. Anyone who knows, what this is?

Next item looks like a little shed and an antenna lying on the ground (pure guessing)

I have another picture on this one

Feel free to look at it with Google earth or Zoom Earth etc. https://zoom.earth/#view=47.40031,8.641949,16z/layers=labels:off

Both objects are pretty much in the middle of the airfield, the latter north, the former south of the runway.

Any help is very appreciated.

Not sure what that first one is.

The second and third look like remnants of some kind of approach lighting. Check the end of RW 11 for lights that are very similar.

Have the runways been moved or lengthened?

Working on MSFS 2024 versions.

The first one looks like it might be some kind of shield to protect against jet blast. The other one looks a bit like a fixed electrical power point. These are just guesses however.

Here's a pic from June '20 - the area in your first picture is in the foreground, the structure in the second and third one is now just about recognisable above the nose of the Air Zero G aircraft on the right (the access to it seems to be overgrown).

Seems there is not much left of both features..

Great picture of the time of Lock Down No 1 in Switzerland, when Swiss parked all short range aircraft in LSMD.

Yes, it looks like the original gear is dismounted and only the remains are seen. Since I don't intend to produce a historical LSMD, it is now only of general interest, what it was about.
