Custom weather at destination

Featured Replies

Morning All

Probably a dumb question but when one sets custom weather parameters in the sim - so for example a 200ft cloud base - does that weather then apply to departure, en route and arrival locations ? Is it possible to set that cloud base just for my destination?

Thanks

You can change the WX at any time so if you want a nice VFR flight enroute but an IFR landing, then just change WX when close to destination. I do this often. Maybe not very realistic but it works.

And of course you can find an area to fly where a front is just moving in and you will get the real deterioration of WX.

It would be nice if you could have a map and designate WX in different areas, maybe in the future...

Would also be nice if we had either live weather or a 3rd party weather engine that were more accurate and especially timely.  AS16 and FSGRW really spoiled us.

Agreed, I have sometimes found the local WX perfect and other times lagging quite a bit.

All and all I think FS2020 is pretty good WX wise for a 1 year old sim. I am sure it will get better.
