July 22, 20214 yr Hi, I am currently running 466.63 drivers with an old GTX1080TI EVGA FTW3 11GB card and P3Dv5.2HF1. As many other simmers in these forums has experienced the "device hang error" in some way , i have found out how to eliminate them on my systerm for time being AND increasing graphic settings. As you can read above my 1080TI comes OCéd from EVGA by default , If i use Nvidia inspector and reduce the MHZ by 70 and setting the temp to 68-72 its all gone for now. I have stressed testet this with flights up to 11 hours that normally would crash . Specially with cloud shadows enabled and AS+ EA. So you might want to try this out first if you have a fabric default OC card . https://imgur.com/a/Q1wCcdi Thanks Michael Moe Michael Moe
July 23, 20214 yr I have a pair of water-cooled EVGA 980Ti HydroCopper GPUs that I used to run in SLI with P3Dv3...after around a year, I had to dial the factory O/C on one of them back. It drove me crazy before I figured out that, over time, the board had "degraded" to where the aggressive factory O/C wouldn't remain stable any more. It still ran faster than the stock nVidia spec after lowering the clock, but not quite up to where the board tested when it was new. It certainly seems that DX12 has a way of finding those sorts of vulnerabilities. July 23, 20214 yr Using 2x Inno3D cards that are factory OC’d I never had a CTD / Device_Hung errors. However, two days ago I had a CTD in MSFS after 2h in the flight. It was extremely hot in the room. I solved it by letting the case door open. The 3090 drops his hot air into the case… My server is liquid cooled and has 4 smaller fans and one 8” fan inside. The push/pull system radiator is outside the case…. So it might be that downclocking a GPU results in less heat and therefore less/no issues.
