July 30, 20214 yr Author it isn't a person. it's a computer system. From what I can gather, this is part of the Driver License Compact created by the AAMVA here in the US. It was started back in the 1950s and over the years more and more states have joined. The idea as they say is "one driver, one license" and its intended to keep habitual and dangerous drivers off the roads in every state and not just the ones they got caught in. I can agree fully with the intention but the fact that I have a 37 year clean driver history should account for something. still waiting to hear from them. still suspended. I'm not expecting to ever be able to drive again. | Dave | I've been around for most of my life. There's always a sunset happening somewhere in the world that somebody is enjoying.
August 6, 20214 yr Author Ok so - an update for anyone who may care: After waiting patiently for a form to arrive in the mail, I was surprised yesterday when I heard back from the office of the governor of that state. And, yes, I did write to the governor because the DMV appeared to be changing their story to justify their actions. At first I got no response from the governor but apparently they were doing an investigation and they said yesterday that the suspension shouldnt have happened and they lifted it and so I went and got my license renewed and I still am not sure what in the living heck just happened to me. but it seems to be over. Thank God.(literally) | Dave | I've been around for most of my life. There's always a sunset happening somewhere in the world that somebody is enjoying.

August 6, 20214 yr Author Thank you, Bill. I cannot tell you how much of an emotional tailspin I've been in. and when I saw that short note from the Governor's office that said 'suspension lifted', I had to ask my mom to read it to make sure I wasn't seeing things. | Dave | I've been around for most of my life.
