To regain your pre SU5 colors...turn off BLOOM...

These are with SU5 and BLOOM and FLARE both off:

I think the color pallet(s) and shading in these shots now look great, and is what I had in SU4.  I have full Global MSFS Ultra set, (except for Bloom and Flare turned off) and am getting 30 sustained FPS.  Quite happy, with it all.

The following is with LIVE WEATHER as on, in the PNW. Although I don't show ocean/water in these terrain shots, with both Bloom and Flare turned off, I now have a very nice shade of blue to almost black surface color to the oceans, lakes, and rivers. Back to what I had in SU4.

So, with the FPS performance never seen before on my older, and modest system, as well as regaining the 'look' of SU4, I guess I can say that I am a 'happy camper'.

My daytime looks fine and with overcast the lighting is more realistic.  But at sunset thr5 extreme nuclear sunsets are a little much.

Hi Ryan...I don't seem to have that nuclear effect at those operating hours, on my end.  I can post some shots if you like.

Overall, this has been for me, a total win/win.  I now have FPS performance that can allow me to use like for instance the enhanced GTA in Toronto, Canada, that before SU5, was a snail show in FPS.  Now?  Wham bam...27-33 FPS sustained!  Most happy.

May I ask where to edit these parameters?

Thanks!

USER.cfg.opt  config file.  Near the top...edit with NotePad ++ and then set the READ ONLY flag so the sim won't reset these options. If you see an update, you would need to remove the READ ONLY flag on this .cfg file BEFORE you go to apply any further update, hotfix, whatever.  Then, you can reset the READ ONLY flag as you wish.

BTW, the Bredox 737 Max is now at Sim Market updated for SU5.  You will see it as the top download for the 737 Max.  Just installed it an hour ago, and all systems go.... 🙂
