Weird bug in SU5?

Featured Replies

ok so flying the 152 the other night I hit ESC mid flight expecting to go back to the settings but my sim "froze"...nothing clickable but no CTD.  After about 5 mins I realised the key command in SU5 to get back into the sim, after hitting escape is now CTRL P.  In SU4 and earlier ESC took you to the settings and ESC got you back in the sim.

Right ok when my sim "froze" I thought I should hit Ctrl P and lo and behold the sim "unfroze".  I've just loaded up the FBW A320 and same thing again, ESC freezes the sim (doesn't open the settings) and Ctrl P unfreezes the sim??  What the heck.  Funny thing is I was just flying the 172 floatplane and ESC behaved normally (opened the settings).

Am I going crazy here?

I do not know about CTL-P but ESC still takes me to the options screen.

Yes I know it does for me but not in the 152 or FBW Mod and maybe other aircraft I've not loaded up in SU5.  If you hit ESC look in the bottom left and the keyboard shortcut to return to the sim is CTRL P - this is new in SU5.  My point being that ESC should not freeze the sim or more actually "pause" the sim.  And it gives me no way to exit to main menu very odd indeed.  This sim has a mind of its own sometimes drives me crazy.

ok I take it back ESC was binded to "toggle pause" but honestly guv that wasn't me.  I've never once rebinded the ESC key (I think) 🙂

OK so now pressing ESC doesn't toggle pause but neither does it open up the settings!  Can someone take a peek in your controls for keyboard and tell me what ESC is mapped to please?

haha thats what it was set to but in the sim pressing ESC literally pauses the Sim, it doesn't open the settings??  Hence my original post.  Am I losing my marbles here?

When I press esc it pauses the sim and opens up Options  at the same time.

TOGGLE PAUSE as well. I haven't flown the C152 or the A320 since SU5 so I'll have to load that up. Gimme a minute.

I've just rebinded ESC to Toggle/Pause and checked I don't have any other assignments for ESC on the keyboard profile.  Going to fire up the 172 now and see what happens.  Been at this an hour now and all I wanted was a quick flight, typical.

what aircraft?

Thomas Derbyshire

Same as always in the C152. It opens the Options menu.

A320 confirm as well. ESC = Options menu.
