Stuck in an update loop

Featured Replies

Did the SU5, the sim worked then the hot fix came out said: "Game update available" (no TMI here!)....update in MS store.

Store opens up- click on update all, It say everything is up to date....

relaunch sim

"Game update available"

repeat ad nauseum

Windows is updated

I'm at a loss as to what to try or check. Any suggestions? Thanks, everybody!

Asus P6T deluxe v.2 MB, i7 940 3.5ghz CPU, 6gb ddr3 1600 Ram, ,1K watt Antec PS, 300gb 10k rpm vraptor HDD, Windows 7pro 64, nvidea 470 GTX, Track IR4, Matrox TH2G w/21" displays, Saitek X52 pro hotas and yoke, CH pedels, Butt Kicker

What you need to do is fire up the XBox installer, that will kick the MS Store into showing the update. If you don't have the XBox installer on your PC, google it and install it on your PC. It's annoying that you have to do this, but it should get you sorted. Might require a reboot/log out of the MS Store to kick it off going.

If the Xbox installer/app fail, try these:

The above is effective if you decide to do a complete reinstall, which is something I just completed.  BTW, installing MSFS is a dream compared to past simulators; the latter literally took days/weeks to accomplish.

If you just want to update, try this:
