Speech hardly recognized

Featured Replies

Dear FS2Crew Team,

first of all, many thanks for publishing the addon finally now. I'm looking forward to using it in the future.

Unfortunately, when I hit my ingame PTT key the "Co-Pilot" only recognizes around 10% of my commands. I've checked your voice FAQ already, complied with it but the voice recognition is still very bad to an extent that I don't want to use the addon any longer.

Team, can you please help me out here, since I really want to use your product.

Best

Have you ever used an FS2Crew before?

So longer as your hardware is working, even non native English speakers should be getting very good results around 80 to 90 plus percent.

Please read this one more time:

No I have never used FS2Crew before.

However, when I follow the info instructions in the command center the software should recognize my commands, but it doesnt.

I will try to train the PC a bit with tge training function.

Yes, you need to "Train" your voice profile.  Do the full training.  It only takes maybe 4 minutes to complete it.

Without voice training your profile, your results wouldn't be great.

I did that, i even upped my mic level to 100% from 81%, for Windows, the level is still very low, even if it goes to red in every recording software i use. Can you implement a feature to increase the voice-input volume in FS2Crew? Im using different voice recordings and my mic is perfectly setup for these, im very picky about good voice levels/quality. However, i have to almost scream at FS2Crew to get it my voice recognised. When i check the Windows Speak recognition levely, they are very low, even if im in the red in Logitech Ghub (G Pro X Mic/Headset) and in OBS.

Vpilot for VATSIM for example, has the option to adjust level in the software, should be in FS2CREW aswell, as it relies heavily on voice.
Also, i did the voice trainigs and still FS2CREW refuses to recognise the word "ON", and all the combinations of it that start with "ON" like "ON AND AUTO" "ON AUTO", etc. Every other comman works fine. No matter how i try to say "ON" it just does not work.

You shouldn't have to scream into your mic.  I can whisper into mine and it'll detected things.

Try deleting your Profile and retraining your voice in full as shown the Voice Guide link.

Also be mindful of any other 3rd party programs out there might try to take over the mic and start adjusting levels on their own.  You may need to experiment.  I personally suspect this is your problem.

Adjusting mic levels may be possible via SAPI.  In all the years we've been making voice programs, sensitivity has never been an issue for users, but we'll see if the SAPI SDK allows it.

Also, just for fun, make sure your setup looks like this:

And you checked this, right?

Thanks! I will look at your suggestions. Im aware it has something to do wint Windows and im nor "blaming" FSD2CREW for that. I just dont like the fact i have to change my perfectly balanced leveled out Mic only for that. But yeah, ill find my way around it.

But can you have a look at the "ON" command please? It feels like there coulde be an issue, it just refused to understand that command. But ill give all that another go tonight.

Thanks 🙂

Also, for "on", this is why we have the back up phrase "Set and checked" in case you ever get stuck.

There are millions of accents out there with millions of different hardware setups, so the backup phrase is necessary.

You can also train individual words this way:
