August 21, 20214 yr Impressive, are those pilots basically one good sneeze away from death? I can’t imagine they have much leeway to dip the gear much further i to the water before they dig in and bad things happen? August 21, 20214 yr You can do this in the sim now and also get the water spray effect off the wheels. But be warned, with crash detection on there is a fine line between skimming the water and swimming. My first thought was, "That is freaking cool". The next time I tried it, I dipped too low and crashed. 😱 Very cool effect, though, and a lot of fun to see the different things they've added in to the sim. August 21, 20214 yr The local crop duster and spray planes around here used to do that regularly as a way to wash the powder/spray off the underside of their planes. Apparently someone complained to the aviation authority (probably worried about pesticide in the local water supply) and the story is they got a "cease and desist" style notice with threats of a fine and suspension of licence if it continued, so you do not really see it anymore.
