August 23, 20214 yr Following a conversation with @Sesquashtoo here, and his introducing me to this area on the edges of Phoenix, I went for a visit. Unfortunately, I don't feel Phoenix has been particularly well-served in the sim. The first few are with PG off, and the autogen is a bit hit-and-miss compared to some of the other US cities I've seen. But you can't argue with the setting, that's for sure. Heading east from the (not very nice) default airport turning north into Scottsdale I'm guessing that's the town centre up ahead have turned east again, towards Fountain Hills Feels like quite a separate conurbation out here, not as integrated as some of the other areas A couple of shots looking back and around And up ahead is the lake, with the Fountain itself (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fountain_Hills,_Arizona ) The view from the other side A couple of shots with PG turned on. Lots and lots of melty buildings and unidentified lumps all over the place. Which is a great shame, as it really would look splendid if these little bugs got ironed out. But I'm reasonably optimistic. London was a puking disaster, PG wise, (IMO, oviously) until recently but seems to be a lot more acceptable now, so maybe these PG issues are not completely set in stone (so to speak). Anway - Welcome to Fountain Hills! Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used

Anway - Welcome to Fountain Hills! Andy, I think the mountain range looks absolutely 100 percent! Check out R.W. vids! The fountain's lakeshore is almost spot on...in some of the coves, where all the festivals are held. I don't think it looks too bad, even the 3,500 sq foot homes on the contoured hillside subdivisions. All in all...not a truly lousy representation! Heck...they even have the downtown lake and fountain base in the sim! That's impressive! This will be our retirement home...if we don't find a ranch house property, just north-east of town. If that is the case, we'll just board our horses, and ride from those stables, and enjoy one of these homes on the scalloped hillsides. Both my wife and I have gone to Fountain Hills for all the festivals, year round, and it is such a great view nestled by two mountain ranges, with moderate weather changes. We also like that it is only 1/2 hour to Indian Line, and the east side of Scottsdale. I have lots of family there, and we visit from Ontario, quite often, as we can stay with family, and not have to do the hotel/restaurant tango....

[Andy/Ses: Beginning to know more about this area, from here, than what I'd got from my (meager) one visit...🙂...] If you ever wish to settle down in and around Phoenix...for retirement...no snow...rain at 5:00 PM like clockwork..lol, coming in from the Pacific...for about an hour... Any town around 30 miles out from the core, is a good place, but anywhere covered by the S.R.P. (Salt River Project) will give you the cheapest electricity rates in and around Phoenix. If you were to ever contact a Real Estate agent...and tell her you ONLY want properties to be shown covered by and within the S.R.P....he or she, would know you are not a 'green', and would take on a totally different bed-side-manner with you as a client...lol. Yep...
