Xcub amphibian?

Featured Replies

Has anyone flown this?

My observations: there is no nosewheel steering when gear down

and water rudder up/down doesn't seem to make a difference one way or the other.

Anyone else experience this or have a work around?

Ciao!

Yes, I think all 172 amphibian has this problem as well.  No one has found a workaround that I can tell.  Basically those planes are useless as amphibians because you can't steer them - even differential brake application doesn't work.  This is one of those silly bugs that, while not game-breaking per se, makes you scratch your head as to how it gets through testing and how long it will take to fix it.

I forgot to post but I found the culprit. It was Rob Young’s Bonanza mod. Once i removed that then everything worked again.

A simple fix to one of the Bonanza config files (one of the JSON files) has been found.  It takes seconds and means you don't have to delete the RY turbo mod.

It is here on the forum somewhere if you can search.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

Brian,

The workaround for the Rob Young Turbo-Normalized Bonanza was discovered by our own Bert Pieke:

The Full Thread is here. And the Specific Post, with the workaround, is here.

Hope Bert's work helps.

What a crooked programme architecture is that when add-ons interfere with each other like that?
