F/O Doesn't set packs on

Featured Replies

After takeoff with packs off and make the reduction in thrust and set them to climb, first oficer doesn't set the packs to on, also when you are clear for takeoff it doesn't set the transponder to on it only leave it in auto

FO will restore the packs.  Make sure the packs off option is selected on the Config Panel.

He'll restore the 1st pack shortly after passing the thrust reduction altitude as entered in the MCDU, then about 10 seconds later he'll restore Pack 2.

Due to a tech limit, we can't set the Xponder to Auto.

That's something you'd need to set during your flow.

Cheers,

Byork, thanks for your answer, I verified the packs off option is checked in control panel, but F/O still not set the packs on after thrust reduction.

Are you using the Dev Version?

Did you disable FO flows or anything?

What was the airport elevation of the departure airport?

Yes, dev version, not disable the FO flows they performed the others well and airport elevation is 8360ft

Which airport is that?

What is the thrust reduction value in the MCDU?

Did you alter it?

The airport is SKBO, thrust reduction altitude is 9200 Ft and yes I set it up in the mcdu

I have a similar issue, however when I am using CONF 1+F the FO restores the packs, if I am using Conf 2, he does not.

Flaps have nothing to do with it.

Trigger is this:

1. Aircraft not on ground.

2. Pack 1 is off.

3. Passing the thrust reduction altitude plus 200 feet, turn pack 1 on.  Wait 10 seconds, turn pack 2 on.

Thrust reduction alt is calculated as -> Take off field elevation + Thrust reduction alt as entered in the MCDU (must be entered as AGL!!!)

Takeoff field elevation is taken when the user announces "Takeoff".

So if you're in Mexico City city (elev around 7300) FS2Crew would compute something like:

7300 feet + 1500 (value in MCDU) + 200 feet for the thrust reduction alt.

The 200 feet is just delay to give climb thrust a few seconds to stabilize when you set it.
