September 9, 20214 yr I just bought Reality XP and it's truly awesome except that no matter how much I follow the instructions in the manual, none of my flight plans are coming up on the GNS530. There is a shortcut option, which I tried as well as a general creation of a flight plan folder option. Also, the aircraft checklist is not coming up either, all of this with paying strict attention to the instruction manual. Can anyone help that might have had this issue or know how to get it going? Thank you! Edited September 9, 20214 yr by RXP
September 9, 20214 yr Hi, Can you please post the content of the RXP log files? (see user's manual for file/path). They should show the correct path where to store the flight plan files if not found.
September 9, 20214 yr Did you install the RXP GTN and Garmin Trainer to the default locations? If so the location where you should put the Windows shortcut should look like this: Edited September 9, 20214 yr by fppilot Frank Patton Corsair 5000D Airflow Case; MSI B650 Tomahawk MOB; Ryzen 7 7800 X3D CPU; ASUS RTX 4080 Super; NZXT 360mm liquid cooler; Corsair Vengeance 64GB DDR5 4800 MHz RAM; RMX850X Gold PSU;; ASUS VG289 4K 27" Display; Honeycomb Alpha & Bravo, Crosswind 3's w/dampener. September 9, 20214 yr Author I followed what you said and still nothing showing up in my flight plan catalog. Also, how do I de-select that option for the GTN 1607 DB?Thanks!
September 9, 20214 yr So you did create FPL (not FPLN) subfolder there? Is it empty? If not what files did you put there? As for the DB option, it is all detailed in this other topic: On 9/3/2021 at 10:51 AM, RXP said: It will install a 1607 AIRAC cycle which is more recent than any other custom or stock DB with an earlier AIRAC (and therefore potentially having different, less or more information than what you were used to in the case you were already manually overwriting the stock DB file(s)) It is unobtrusive and reversible in running the installer again and deselecting the option, or in manually renaming/deleting the environment variable This will be using the embedded GNS V2 facility meant to overriding the stock DB which is documented in the User's Manual p20 and p21, or more generally in the chapters "Configuring Alternate Paths" and "Configuring Aviation Database Files"
September 9, 20214 yr Author Thank you for that, I will run the installer again and ensure I do not select it as I have a Navigraph subscription with the current AIRAC cycle. Also, I took a screenshot of the path for the FPL folder but I don't see a way to attach to the thread.

If you are using the Windows Explorer file manager you can click in that box showing your path and then right-click copy and then paste text of your file path in to a response here. It will look like this when you do that: C:\ProgramData\Garmin\GNS Trainer Data\GNS Edited September 9, 20214 yr by fppilot Frank Patton Corsair 5000D Airflow Case; MSI B650 Tomahawk MOB; Ryzen 7 7800 X3D CPU; ASUS RTX 4080 Super; NZXT 360mm liquid cooler; Corsair Vengeance 64GB DDR5 4800 MHz RAM; RMX850X Gold PSU;; ASUS VG289 4K 27" Display; Honeycomb Alpha & Bravo, Crosswind 3's w/dampener. Have you tried putting the sample flight plan file included in the sample pack (see User's Manual p9 for this)

The GNS is using a genuine Garmin or Jeppesen DB only. The one included with the Garmin installer is older, the two (Jeppesen WW and Garmin North. Am.) which are included in the most recent RXP GNS V2 update are newer. Edited September 9, 20214 yr by RXP

In my folder, which is the last folder in my path, I have a Windows shortcut named "FPL" and it points to a folder on my system that is more convenient. It is in that folder identified in the shortcut that I have my flight plans. In "C:\ProgramData\Garmin\GNS Trainer Data\GNS" you can either have a FPL folder that contains your flight plan files, -or- in that GNS folder you can have a shortcut named FPL to a different folder that holds your plans. You cannot have both. See if that is your issue. I believe RXP deserves credit for innovating the shortcut method. September 9, 20214 yr Author So now it recognizes the flight plan in the folder, but it fails to import on the GNS 530. Am I doing something wrong?
