Into Juneau, or better not

I was doing with a friend a leisure flight around Shelter Island, northwest of Juneau…

…when we spotted this. Wow, she is huge

That must be the Tirpitz

I’ll ask the captain to bring me back to Juneau airport. Let’s see how close we can get to it

If nothing works out, I can hopefully use their on-board Arado plane

It’s going to be tight and from the looks of it, we have some nasty currents here

Ok, that’s as far as we can get without running the ship aground

Let’s back up and turn her around slowly and head south instead for the port of Juneau

Great shots ! 👍

Is that ships "Seafront Vessels" or the freeware "Global AI Ship Traffic MSFS V2" or nothing of both, and if so, can there be used both within the Sim ?

And how should i set the Slider for ships and boats in the Sim ?

cheers 😉

Thanks for your kind comment. Re the ship, I'm afraid it's not that easy. The ship is a freeware pilotable offer for FSX by Klaus Novak over on Sim Outhouse. You can also get it on flightsim.com I believe. I'm not sure, whether it is available here on avsim. I converted it to MSFS (with a couple of others from the USS Arizona to the SMS Hood, the Bismarck and a couple of nice old liners and freighters). If you want to know more about it, just send me a pm.

In the sim, I have my slider for ships set at 10% (Henrik Nielsen recommends 6 to 10% for his AI ship traffic) and for boats at 50%.

Lovely stuff Bernd, these are way beyond mere "wow". I'm going to have to find the time to have a go at at least one of these beauts. Are you using the same tool/techniques for the conversion as the aircraft conversions?

Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used
