Feature request: temporarily disable ATC chatter

Featured Replies

Would it be possible to provide a key bind / button assignment for temporarily disabling the ATC chatter?

This would be great when using P2A together with other addons that are outputting speech as well to prevent overlapping. I have always been using SelfLoadingCargo, in this case not hearing a cabin announcement because chatter is playing is not a big deal. But now I started to use the new interactive checklist feature of AAO, and in this case missing the checklist item over a chatter playing at the same time really sucks...

I think technically it should be doable, P2A already mutes the chatter when pressing the push-to-talk button (that's what I now sometimes use as a workaround, but it's a PITA having to keep the button pressed and doing the checklist items at the same time 🤪). A way for either pausing the chatter, or just muting it would be awesome...

Thanks,

Dirk

There is a HotKey near the bottom of the Btns tab to enable/disable Chatter.

That should do what you want.

OMG, It was there all along...

Just tested it, and it works great, thanks Dave! Though now here's a related feature request - would it be possible to have a tiny indicator somewhere on the P2A UI that shows whether it's turned on or off? Quite likely there will be situations where you are not sure whether the enable key actually triggered or not, and some indication other than having to go into the Sounds config would be very helpful

Thanks!

Dirk
