October 3, 20214 yr so, i'll preface this by saying that I like this product enough that I purchased the PRO upgrade. This software presents a good education in the operation of the Dash 8 q400. My only complaint is the engine start up sounds are almost nonexistent, especially in external view. I have installed the sound immersion packages, but they are only for internal sounds. Does anyone know of a good sound package for this aircraft? I have heard these machines start many times and the default sounds don't do it justice.
October 3, 20214 yr I think you have something wrong with your setup...the engine sounds are one of the really exceptional features of the Majestic Q400. Check your config file--If you're running Win7, the Win7CompatibilityMode should be set to 1, for all other OS it should be 0 (in the mjc84.ini file in ...\simobjects\Airplanes\mjc8q400) and also make sure the MainPlaybackDeviceID is properly set for a device listed in your Windows sound settings. October 3, 20214 yr Author The actual engine and prop sounds are fine- I'm just missing external startup sounds. All the other settings you suggested are good. In the sound folder, the only .wav file listed is N1_sound.wave. I have no idea where the start up sounds are- other aircraft have them listed? Edited October 3, 20214 yr by Boeingnut

On this subject: How do I read out the sound device ID? I have three output devices (surround system, TV, headphones), and I'm having a hard time configuring the Dash to my liking. October 4, 20214 yr Author on further investigation, after watching a few videos of other peoples flights, there is no problem, the start up sounds are just quiet
