October 9, 20214 yr Thanks to @polosim giving me a hint, I flew from Chilas to Gilgit, small towns in the Himalayas, in Pakistan. Chilas, Gilgit are names which don't ring a bell today. They did when the British Empire ruled the Sub-Continent (the Raj !) as they were frontier cities in a highly volatile region. Actuality they are still in a volatile region disputed between Pakistan, India and China. So I adapted my livery and took the Air America one 😉. Besides, they are in the mighty Indus valley which is a branch of the Silk Road and the path taken by the Indian missionaries who brought Buddhism to China. They were on a major road of trade and civilization.
