In the middle of a wild WX change?

See these two METARs, spaced just 9 minutes apart:

5°C (9°F) down and base windspeed almost doubled in just 9 minutes?

For reference, I'm at my office, which is located 10 km away from SACO. I can hear how hard is the wind blowing. It was pushing so hard that I couldn't even open the window.

That's a typical Spring day here on the Colorado front range.  We don't use wind socks any more--we use a logging chain lag-bolted to the top of a telephone pole.  😜

I can attest to the winds in Colorado / Kansas.  I live one state over but I have spent a lot of time there, to maybe even qualify as a resident.  WIND takes on a whole new meaning there.  They can have it.  I've seen I-25 look like HOTH ICE PLANET complete with car carcasses strewn like toys every mile from Denver to Colorado Springs.

I bet Cordoba Argentina gets similar, it has similar geography to Denver / CoSpgs -- big mountains to the west, and a plains-type area to the east.  I wonder if they happen there, by strong winds out of the south.
