Voice Recognition Activation

Featured Replies

I just recently purchased FS2Crew for the FBW a320 and I absolutely cannot get voice recognition to work. I have done every single fix on the FS2crew help section, including uninstalling, reinstalling fs2crew, changing languages, changing hardware, and so on.

My voice recognition for windows works just fine with any hardware I use, I can control the pc and dictate to it flawlessly, windows (10) is up to date, all drivers up to date, everything else works great…FS2crew works great using the the keyboard, but when I try to change to voice control in the config menu, upon closing the menu I receive the error message “unable to activate windows speech recognition” and it reverts to keyboard control.

Has anybody else experienced this and found a solution? any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I have also tried opening as administrator, reinstalling fbw a32nx dev version, opening win voice rec before loading, wasm is 1.0.0.0, still no luck. next ideas are emptying community folder and some other minor things but since fs2crew works fine otherwise and speech rec. does too, im lost....please help!

Hi Ray,

Please read this carefully:

https://fs2crew.com/fs2crew-voice-control-setup-help/

The Info Center will tell you if speech is actually running or not.

I suspect you probably just have an audio driver conflict.  Uninstall your current audio driver.

Reboot windows.  Windows will install a generic audio driver.

Cheers,

Sorry but I try and try with this program, its just too hard to setup correctly and get any type of voice control happening.  One day it works the next it doesnt.  Now you have joystick integration which sounds all lovely but try and get that to work, Ive just given up.  Yes it probabaly is my configuration but it is so convaluted and complicated I just wanted something I could run, start it up and it works, not fix this, change that.  When I do change a sound setting it will then change my VATSIM settings or otheer type of ATC program settings so have to change it all around.

Thanks anyway im sure its a great program for some but unfortunately my money is now a donation as I cant use it.
