P3Dv5.2 HF2 Low level clouds ? Generated ,but higher…

Featured Replies

Hi,

I just noticed sim is not generating low level clouds correctly either using ASP3D or manual setting weather. It looks like it is generated but higher then shown in metar.

I did a flight while I had metar with BKN003 (Broken 300’) ,ended up breaking the clouds at 2000’.

Then I went the an airport with OVC008 (overcast 800’) and again clouds are generated much higher +1500’ +2000’ then the meter itself.

I thought it was ActiveSky issue but then loaded sim and entered a manual clouds layer just to get same results.

Anyone encountered similar issue ? Any ideas ?

For me it seems the cloud layer rises while climbing to higher altitudes.

METAR report cloud base NOT cloud top.

Thats what I wrote I broke down at 2000' not 300' (base)

This is correct. since FSX Active Sky depict clouds this way.

The current version is 5.2.22.27615 HF1 not HF2.
