November 14, 20214 yr Author When the almost ready Milviz ATR for MSFS is on sale there will be a lot of FedEx repaints showing up at a lot of the smaller airports. Of course Asobo should be getting close to releasing their own ATR 42/72 which will add a ton more to the active fleet in the air and on the ground. I haven't heard if these will have cargo versions on day one or not. I just read that Aerosoft will be bringing even more ATRs to MSFS: Another plane has been announced and it’s the ATR 42-600 and ATR 72-600, made in collaboration with ATR itself and developed by Hans Hartmann who created the aircraft in previous simulators and lately worked on the CRJ. This one will come in a while, more specifically in 2022. Don't forget that Amazon Air has their own growing fleet of ATR-500Fs. They are continuing to buy older ATRs on the world market and having them converted to cargo configuration so they can compete with UPS/FedEx with their own deliveries. ATR’s Chief Executive Officer Christian Scherer declared: “We congratulate FedEx Express for their long-standing success and for their long term commercial views for the new ATR 72-600F. Their selection of this new aircraft is the result of a deep technical and economic analysis. ATRs in cargo configuration deliver an outstanding service, both serving small communities and feeding larger freighters. The ATR 72-600F is the only new large regional aircraft available on the market for freighter operations. We are convinced that, with its use by FedEx Express, it will become the new benchmark for regional air cargo operations”. When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .

The cargo models should be set to ramp only, but I believe if there's no free ramps it will spawn at gates. Obviously, KMEM is a prime candidate for a high level payware airport to correct these short comings. When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .
November 14, 20214 yr Author More about the Asobo ATR 42/72 here with screenshots. ATR 42-600, Top Rudder Just103Solo, Nordic World Update and More coming to Microsoft Flight Simulator – FSElite The final, and perhaps most exciting part of the live stream, was the announcement of the ATR 42-600/72-600. Following on from a successful partnership with Aerosoft and the CRJ team, the Asobo team will be working with Hans Hartman to create the new aircraft. Hans is one of the key developers behind the CRJ for Microsoft Flight Simulator and previously worked on the Flight1 ATR. It was confirmed that the team will be working with the Franco-Italian aircraft manufacturer to help develop the plane so it can be a complex aircraft. Jorg said “we have the best people in the world working on the ATR” whilst they work on the aircraft. Whilst the previews are looking great already, it’s worth noting this won’t be ready until at least 2022. When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .

I worked there from 1985 until 2013 and lived in Memphis for awhile. I also had the opportunity to jumpseat (mostly on DC-10's) a number of times which was an interesting experience! When the airport expanded one runway (before the major expansion that came later), it was so noisy at our house that the airport authority purchased our entire neighborhood of about 65 houses. We actually made out pretty well on that deal. But, the majority of the noise came from my own company! Rick Abshier 5900X | RTX 5070 Ti OC| 64 GB@3600 | India Pale Ale
