Cannot fix (or mute) cabin alt warning horn in Laminar B738

Featured Replies

I fly the Laminar B737-800 a lot, its my fav plane in the sim. For performance reasons on this old computer (single digit FPS) I cannot use Zibo.

Before I take off I set the cruise  & landing ALT on the cabin alt panel. Packs = auto, Bleeds = ON

Doesn't work - after about 20,000ft the horn kicks off and will not go away.

Because it is a FOMOD soundset I cannot dive into the files and remove or mute the horn sound with sound software. So in desperation I got some regular WAV file 737 sounds and use those now. I made the horn volume = 0 with Audacity. So it still activates but at least I cant hear it.

So I'm missing out on the nice CFM56 FOMODs. What is the solution to this and has anyone else experienced this? Just to emphasize again this is on the stock Laminar 737-800 plane.

Any ideas? Can I disable the horn in PlaneMaker? If so could you tell me the steps? Thanks 🙂

I am sure there must be something going on with your setup/flight in particular, otherwise this would be a very common complaint!

There could be a few reasons why your aircraft does not pressurize, maybe your pressurization mode selector is not in Auto (or Standby) and your outflow valve is open, maybe a window is open, or the logic for the FLT/GRD switch isn´t done correctly (it should switch to FLT mode automatically on liftoff, even if the pilot forgets to set it during the after-start-items).

Maybe show a picture of your overhead panel when that alarm goes off?

Yes thats the frustrating part for me - this is not an issue I hear many others having so it is likely something I am doing wrong. To add more mystery - it was not always like this. I was enjoying Laminar B738 since the sim was released and I didn't have this issue. It appeared in later updates.

I will take a screenshot of the panel the next time it goes off, will also check the outflow valve, FLT/GRD that you mentioned, thanks!

Because it is a FOMOD soundset

fmod logic is mostly defined in the .snd file which can be opened with a text editor
