December 8, 20214 yr Anyone have any idea why half the RNAV approaches I shoot never capture the GP but start descending down to the runway like it is captured? Thanks for any input! John Snyder Jr

December 8, 20214 yr If you're talking about default aircraft without the WT G1000 NXis, then they don't work most of the time by default. The WT stuff works fine. Assuming you have the WT G1000 NXi (free from the marketplace which replaces ALL stock G100s) then you activate the APPR mode when on the way to the FAP (Final Approach Fix). As to why it still continues down it may be you're in VNAV still with a lower ALT constraint so if the FAP has an ALT constraint then it might continue down. WT has plans to do the G3000 once they get a stable feature set for the 1000. Hopefully that comes fairly soon. I'm not sure what their timeline is. December 8, 20214 yr Yep, the Working Titles G1000NXi mod is what you want for RNAV approaches. I like TBMs too, but if I can offer a replacement suggestion for complex IFR flying: try the free G36 Turbo mod for the Bonanza. It gives you a turbo-normalized bonanza (with a really nice flight model) that performs closer to the TBM in terms of speed and altitude (true out over 200kts in the teens), and uses a G100, which means when you install the NXi you'll have a fully RNAV approach capable box.
