December 10, 20214 yr In Alaska there's a requirement to be able to hold the MEA (minimum enroute altitude) after an engine fails - the F27 couldn't do this so, in conjunction with the FAA, a drift down requirement was created, usually about 8K above the MEA. PAMC to PANC (my usual commercial flight) 185 miles reached FL180 accomplishing this. This model, out of Manchester UK, has featured in XP9/10/11.
