I have found how to get the beta, have installed the xbox insider hub, I pressed join on the preview for MSFS, but the next option seems to be installing the game again via the hub, which I dont want to do......

What am I missing? The instrcutions I found online (https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/how-to-participate-in-the-public-beta/480099) say it should give you a mandatory update at this stage.....which I did not see? And then a small update within the sim?

thanks

after this procedure the manager inside the simulator installs mandatory update. After this in the simulator profile you will see the option to update the public beta.

If you are still having problems, try the MS Store app. I find its 50/50 between that and the Xbox app when it comes to starting installations...

Hi thanks for the reply, but the issue is that when I follow the procedure, it wants to install the WHOLE game again.......all 124 GB of it, which obviously, I dont need to do do I? Or is it the case if want to run the Beta, then you need to install the whole game again?

I thought that running the Beta just involved a mandatory update ? I am using the Xbox insider Hub....I go to previews, select that, then select go to store ( as per the instructions) then the store App opens and if you press install, it asks where you wnat to install it and it needs 124GB......

Thanks

Hi Mark, I'm not sure how the process was for me, but I definitely did not reinstall the whole sim. I assume in your case, it wants to install at the default location. If you have at a custom location, just try to point the installer to that location.

Good luck

Mick
