December 28, 20214 yr Is it possible to enable VNAV for any waypoint you want in the G1000 mod? Like I want to fly to a remote airstrip and I'd like to use VNAV to calculate the TOD for it. I can't get that done in any way. I can't enter an altitude for that airport (or any waypoint) and I can't get VNAV working for it in any way. Afaik it should be possible... Maybe just not yet in this mod? I watched various video's but they are all about waypoints that have an alt in blue at the right already. Check the screenshot for an example: is there a way to enable VNAV for AYWU in any way?
December 28, 20214 yr Select VISUAL approach procedure (afaik it should work for any airport) It will build a 3 degree glide path from missed approach point and outward. Keep in mind you have no obstacle clearance included, so erm..watch out EASA PPL SEPL + NQ / CB-IR in progress MSFS24 | X-Plane 12

December 28, 20214 yr Author Thanks! I am going to give it a try right now! EDIT Works like a charm! It took some tries but in the end I figured out the STRAIGHT option is the one to use, not VECTORS. STRAIGHT keeps the NAV AP alive. 😉 I also got confused at first because I forgot the map was not north up LOL so I chose the wrong runway... But all is good now! Awesome feature! Works even with those little grass strips! BTW How does it calculate the ALT of the FAF? The runway is at 3560 ft. And can you somehow change the distances (between the waypoint)? December 28, 20214 yr Author Concerning the obstacles: I will mainly use the VNAV information as a visual guideline, so to know when to descent, if I am too high or too low, where the runway is, how to approach it and so on. I might fly it using AP at first but not (always) when I get lower. Edited December 28, 20214 yr by tup61
December 28, 20214 yr Author Wow... Just found out that even APPR works with this kind of approach...!!! You can do (to put it completely wrong) an ILS landing on even the tiniest little grass strip! COOL! That G1000 NXi is AMAZING! (And so is the Kodiak, of course.) And no, I didn't try to autoland LOL
