OK.....Which is the best source for this tool? I tried the woogle... But the textures are less than desirable. I tried Aspen, The Alps etc.. and they look bad.Its nothing like what I see in Christian;s Flikr screenshots of Hawaii.Could you guys give me the server and the locations you are getting the best resolution?ThanksManny

I tried the grand canyon two nights ago, all the tiles loaded without error and it looked stunning, just like the screenshots. Last night I tried it again and I got a bunch of redirect, timeout, and failure to load tiles messages in all the locations I tried. Some tiles did load but it did not look nearly good as the night before.As far as I know, I didn't do anything different and didn't change any settings. Perhaps the servers are overloaded or they are limiting my access and downloads.Ted

The redirects are their self-protection against automated query tools (spambots, viruses, rogue bots and other things). Change your IP adress and you will be fine again - until you hammer them with too much traffic in too short of a timespam. Then they will blacklist your IP adress again for a while.Christian

TileProxy works fine for me when installed over a a STOCK FSX install with the Microsoft photo terrain patch applied.Not a single FSX configuration change required and everything is crisp out of the box. This test machine is a Dell Dimension 1100 Basic upgraded with a 2.8 GHz Pentium IV, 512 MB main memory and a Geforce 6200 (256 MB RAM) in a PCI (not PCI express) slot! So tileproxy DOES work on low-end gear. I get some stutters during loading because it's a single core machine.Some nice locations to fly at: - the default flight at Friday Harbour - Tangri-La airstrip near Moab, Utah - the Grand Canyon (KGCN) - Moffett Field, Mountain View Californiaall with "Service Example 2" after figuring out the INI part yourself, you know ;)Christian

It is needed only for the FSX format photographic scenery in .bgls. However, I would recommend that everyone should apply the patch.George.

G??gle has very Hi Res Foffet field, Pasedina, CA. But Its not downloading the higest resolution textruers.Hmmm..Manny
