January 4, 20224 yr Hey everyone, Have long been struggling with wanting to fly my tfdi 717 but I know its a vram hog. Just wondering if 5.3hf1 has made memory at all more improved in sim in general? (I recognize its that aircraft in particular which is a memory hog). Thanks! AMD 5830X Nvidia RTX 3060 Win 11
January 4, 20224 yr Hey, for me the Memory in 5.3 is worse compared to 5.2. At the same airport it comes to an out of memory ctd with the same settings but yeah, its settings related. For the TFDI: In your TFDi_Design_717\Panel folder, there is a LegacyRender folder with 2 files in it. Backup the files in the Panel folder first and than copy the files from the LegacyRender folder into your Panel folder. That solves the VRAM issue with the TFDi for me 🙂 Cheers, Bernd🌈✈️
January 4, 20224 yr Before I had a RTX3090 i shrinked textures from sceneries and aircraft which were very demanding. This can be done quite easily with a program called XnConvert. For example, I shrinked all textures of ORBX TE NL and the Airbus from Aerosoft and could run this way without changing settings from P3D on a RTX 2080 with 8GB VRAM. The combination of TE NL, Flytampa Schiphol Airport and Aerosoft A320 was one of a few places around the globe, which my computer couldn't handle. Other places never were a problem. But if you try, make sure to keep the textures in a backup, in case you destroy them or want to go back to full resolution one day. OS=WIN11 Home, Sim=P3D5 5.3 (P3D4 and FSX for install reasons) Addons=ORBX, ASCA, AS, TOGA and tons of sceneries, aircraft MB=Gigabyte AORUS Z790 Elite AX, CPU=i13900K, Cooling=Be quiet!
