Custom cameras and wonky zoom

Featured Replies

So this post has been long overdue, because I have "suffered" from it since launch back in August 2020. I've grown used to it, but whenver I try one of the older sims, I remember how "cameras should work". So my issue is that let's say I have a few airplanes I usually fly, like the DC6 and the Salty 747, and I've setup like 4-5 custom cameras for them. In the 747, I have a pilot's view, a view for the FMC and main display units, one for the overhead, one for the pedestal etc. I have the views bound to my razer gaming mouse, so I can easily swap between the views.

However, for some odd reason, it is never enough just to click the assigned view button one time. Or to explain more precisely, whenever I click the custom view hotkey twice, I will get two different views. One is usually either at an angle or, which is often the case with the pilot's view, zoomed differently. So whenever I use the hotkeys to swap views, I have to click them twice.

I just find this very odd, not user friendly if this is the intended behaviour. But I'm also aware that I never read or hear about this issue anywhere. So I'm thinking that it might be something wrong with my setup. Or do you guys also have this issue? Please chime in, and if you know about a fix, please let me know 🙂

You only have to click once to change a view. If you click the same key again it toggles and goes back to previous view. Yes camera system is very wonky and hoping they release the sdk so that we can get better functionality in the future.

look at your mappings carefully and check your load custom views save custom views mappings. Make sure there are no conflicts. I would just assign them to keys rather than mouse buttons just to check if it works as intended.

It really is in many ways.  I've gotten used to it but it's not user friendly and just set up poorly.
