Aircraft Shortening

Featured Replies

Hi..in the new version of PE, aircraft offset has been replaced by aircraft shortening. May I ask what is this function and how does it work?

Thanks.

We somehow forgot to add the tooltip, but we'll add it in the next version.

For most people, just leave it at 0.  Place the place the pin over the taxiway line and you're going to get pretty close to the taxiway line during pushback.

However, it's not 100 percent all the time, so shortening is like a "trim" value.

If you find the plane constantly overshooting the taxiway line, I might add a negative shorting value of like -10.

If you're undershooting, I might add a positive value like 10 (a positive number).

It's actually the other way around:

If you find the plane constantly undershooting the taxiway line, you might add a negative shorting value of like -10.

Else...

If you're overshooting, I might add a positive value like 10 (a positive number).

Cheers,

👌Thanks for the clarification...
