May 16, 200719 yr I have downloaded the patch for FSX and saved it, it extracts saying I need 15000megabytes free, when I have 62.7 Gigabytes free space. Can some help me out to get the patch to work for me? ThanksCharles Huckelbery
May 16, 200719 yr Moderator But, did you save it in a small partition on your hard drive??? Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
May 16, 200719 yr Bill:Thanks for the reply, my flight simmulation stuff is located on the larger portion of my hard drive, Drive D, which has about 70GB free vs C Drive which has about 14GB free. I have a Sony Vaio which is somewhat dated, but works ok until I replace it. The drive came partictioned into two separate drives. Thanks again for your help.Charles Huckelbery
May 16, 200719 yr Thats gotta be aggravating.Would ya please stop with all the dang zeros?Seriously, since you are the first to name your thread "problems", I'll add another. FSUIPC 4.9 doesn't appear to be up to speed.Pete obviously didn't get the word that the patch was IMMENENT or he would have released his latest and greatest. That said, I have the Cirrus II and it is fraking useless now with the patch. Worked fine before. Probably a sim connect thing, I don't care.Pete, I KNOW it's 5 O'Clock in the morning for ya, get it ON!BC

Can some help me out to get the patch to work for>me? Thanks>>>Charles HuckelberyNow THAT is going to be a real freaking headache sincemy FSX partition only has 10 GB free space remaining. As a matter of fact, on both my HD's ( 120 GB & 160 GB )only two of my partitons have more than 10 GB free and there is no way I'm going to attempt moving FSX!It appears that SP1 is going to be one big hassle, startingwith having to back-up all my changes to default aircraftand panels, addon textures, etc, so that I can restore themafter SP1.I've a couple of hundred hours invested in modificationsand I'm not about to throw all that time and effort awaywith a "pristine install"....ain't gonna happen.Either SP1 "takes" on my current installation or I'llhave 30 GB free on the partition where FSX USED to be.... May 16, 200719 yr HiGot the same trouble....FSX on "D" drive withplenty of Gb ...and "C" drive with few free MbAnd Mr. Patch is asking more MB ....for the "C"drive?? any help ?Patrice
May 16, 200719 yr I'm thinking, and I haven't tested this yet (but I will be), that if you do an uninstall, all the modified files will be left behind. Move them someplace else and do a clean install, and then remash all your edits back in after the SP1 update. I'm thinking only the default aircraft will be a pain, the rest you should be able to just move back into the install, except for perhaps a few payware aircraft, which, thank god, there aren't too many of yet.Think of it as a chance to clean up your installation of the cob webs. :)I believe that at least a couple of paywares will require SP1.Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)N15802 KASH '73 Piper Cherokee Challenger 180 Tom Perry

May 16, 200719 yr What kind of answer is that? If you would have actually tested your advice, you would have seen that the installer extracts its contents to C: by default.
May 16, 200719 yr "(...) What kind of an answer is that? (...)"A nice one, son, and helpful too."(...) the installer extracts its contents to C: by default (...)"Oh dear, how sad, never mind. Just change the default. I've got the whole bloody lot on drive E, without the slightest problem.Jaap Verduijn.
May 16, 200719 yr Helpful? Not as it was stated in his one line quip, and it was inaccurate to boot. If the OP is having an issue of this nature, do you think they would be able to change the default temporary folder on their own accord? I think not. Touche'.....
