February 10, 20224 yr Flight sim loads as normal. Select a departure and destination on World screen. Clicks Fly Now and it starts to load. When blue line gets about 3/4th the way over it stops. Only way to get out is use Task Master and close. Restart. Same thing. Finally uninstalled sim then reinstalled it. (3-1/2 hours). Then to Content Manager and 65 more files installed. Then tried again and it locked up at the same place. Rebooted and tried a Discovery Flight. Same thing. Locked up at the same place. I was surprised when I finally got the new install that all my history and even third party mods were still in there. So, looks like I didn't get a brand new install. I guess it just downloaded the problem with the new install. BTW. I had backed up my Community folder in another place. I tried deleting the existing one and replacing it with the back up using copy and paste, and it didn't load and also deleted the backup copy And the clip board was blank. So then I reinstalled. If anyone can help me I sure would appreciate it. Roy i7-10700 CPU @2.90 GHz, 32 GB Ram, nVadia GTX1660ti, Samsung 1 TB SSD Drive
February 10, 20224 yr Commercial Member I has this once. Try loading a flight with nothing live. So clear skies no love traffic and bing maps off. Basically offline. Once in loaded up turn them all back on. See if that works.

Which MSFS version are you running (did you possibly opted into the beta?) which plane do you try to fly/load. Plus obviously what FST mentions above for narrowing down the issue. But I suggest you start with giving us some basic information first of all Phil Leaven i5 10600KF, 32 GB 3200 RAM, ASUS 4070 12GB EVO, Asus ROG Z490-H, 2 WD Black NVME for each Win11 (500GB) and MSFS (1TB), Rolling Cache 16GB, Photogrammetry always OFF, Live Weather and Live Traffic always ON, Res 2560x1440 on 27"

February 10, 20224 yr Author No beta. version 1.22.2.0. Windows 10, Bonanza I don't know what else I can tell you. It's working fine the night before, then it's not working. i let it sit for 10 or f5 minutes several times. What I don't understand is why it would still have all my previous information still there, with a uninstall and reinstall. My Log was all still there. The only thing I noticed was I had all my settings on Ultra and they were changed to High. Also missing was my P-38L Lightning. The P-51 was still there. I just checked my Community folder and it is empty. Strange. Roy i7-10700 CPU @2.90 GHz, 32 GB Ram, nVadia GTX1660ti, Samsung 1 TB SSD Drive

I am not sure whether MSFS automatically downloads all your Marketplace purchases but it might. That might explain why some addons are there and others are not. But there is also the possibility you have 2 Community Folders on your hard drive, and MSFS is using another one than you think you are using. Did you switch on DirectX 12 by chance? This might cause CTD's with third party aircraft, at least it did in my case. February 10, 20224 yr Logs and settings are stored in „da cloud“, well usually. If your community folder is empty that indicates indeed a very clean install. Unfortunately, if you are obviously not trying/using a bonanza mod I am out, no idea how to help. Except to reinstall again. Or at least repair/reset the MSFS launcher in our MS App settings. February 10, 20224 yr Author Just finished reinstalling for the second time today. Deleted the Packages folder before installing After install completed I went to Content Manager and installed World Update for the US. Still same problem, Sim locks up in World Menu while trying to load a flight plan. This time I clicked departure then clicked Arrival to select a destination and it locked up then. Mouse would not work. Checked Community folder and it is empty. It created a new folder but nothing in it. It created the Official/OneStore folder and it is full. Don't know if it means anything but in the Content Manager there was a XBox emblem in each file. I don't remember seeing that before. I have never used X-Box but the Microsoft Store install said use X-Box install. Don't know if this has anything to do with the problem. February 11, 20224 yr Author I finally got it to work. Previously I had downloaded scenery for two airports. I put these into my empty Community folder and created a flight plan between these two airports. Hit Fly and it ran perfectly. So then I tried two that I had no downloaded scenery for and it worked perfectly also. I still don't know how this happened but it's working now. Now I'm afraid to close the sim. Roy Keep an eye on it. If you get lockups again, if it were me I would think about running Prime95 to make sure the hardware could handle the load. Stuff does wear out over time, even new-ish stuff.
