A question about ATC

Recommended Posts

Good evening everyone, i have the SimCheck A300B4-200 and i fly with the default ATC of FSX. I load waypoints manually to the INS for more realism, but when i do this, i can't ask the ATC for IFR clearance. In the ATC dialog box only "request visual clearance" appears. Am i doing something wrong? Or if i fly with VFR clearances, can i still ask for ils directives to atc while approaching to my destination?

By the way if i enter the first 9 waypoints to the captain's ins and the following 9 waypoints to the first officer's ins, how can i switch between them? By switching between autopilot 1 and 2? (or AP a and b)?

I think the only way to get an IFR clearance in FSX is use the FSX flight planner to create the IFR route.

My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.

Ah, thanks, i get it. But if i fly without atc, can i still contact the atc near my destination for ils restrictions?

No.  In FSX, by default, all flights are VFR, VFR with flight following, or IFR.  Unless you use the IFR flight planner and fly IFR, you cannot get much interaction with ATC other than clearance for touch and go or full stop landing.
