May 16, 200719 yr Moderator Won't have time to install SP1 until tonight but have read elsewhere that you must have the SDK installed also in order to install SP1. Is this correct? I did not install the SDK on my main system and would prefer not to do so unless absolutely necessary. thanx,VicVisit the Virtual Pilot's Centerwww.flightadventures.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/ RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
May 16, 200719 yr No, you don't need the SDK installed in order to install SP1. You do need to have the RTM version of the SDK installed in order to install the SP1A version of the SDK (ie the new updated SDK won't install if the original SDK isn't there) - I think folks are just getting confused on which parts are which :-> Tim http://fsandm.wordpress.com

May 17, 200719 yr Strange, there is now contradictory information on what is necessary for the SDK update to SDK-SP1A:http://www.fsinsider.com/downloads/Pages/F...tKitUpdate.aspxsays:"Please note that this update requires the installation of the original SDK from the Deluxe version of FSX."http://www.fsinsider.com/developers/Pages/...heSDKinSP1.aspxsays:"Because the SDK ships only in the Deluxe version of FSX, in order to install the SDK SP1A update you must have the RTM or SP1 version of the SDK already installed."Do I misinterpret the 2nd one ? Or is that outdated ?Regards,Siggy Siggy Schwarz
May 17, 200719 yr Author Commercial Member Siggy,It's not referring to SP1 for FSX itself. There was an SP1 released for the SDK itself back quite a while ago... It's saying that you need either the RTM version of the SDK or the later SP1 version in order to install this new SDK that accompanies FSX SP1. May 17, 200719 yr Ryan,Sure, however the page at the first link does not say 'or', it states that the SDK update requires the *ORIGINAL* SDK from the Deluxe DVD.Siggy Siggy Schwarz
May 17, 200719 yr Author Commercial Member My guess is that it will install on either. If you want to be safe, go with the original one. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
