Landing light brightness

Recommended Posts

Flying the PMDG 772ER, I cannot see the landing lights illuminate the ground..... at all. external view has a little bit of lighting on the ground, but faint. Anyone know a solution?

FYI - I have not tried other planes as I mostly fly during the day. just wanted to do a night flight today.  5.3 HF2

I had to tweak some of the PMDG effect files to make it work.

Is that only in P3Dv5? The landing lights of my PMDG 737 NGX and 777 illuminate the ground just fine in P3Dv4.5HF2.

I find landing lights in the 744 and NGXu seem to be very dependent on the airport and the kind of textures used. Some airports the surfaces illuminate fine, others it's virtually indistinguishable from having them off. Usually it's the older airports that fare worse, flew out of FlyTampa KMDW in the NGXu the other day and the landing lights did basically nothing. Newer sceneries I tend to have more success

Should note I am still on HF1

The thing I notice is the landing lights for most aircraft seem rather dim, but once you get close to an object they become very bright, much much brighter then the ground. Kind of annoying but I guess as the previous poster mentioned it probably has to do with the textures used and how the airport was made.
