Like i said the offending dll is d3d9.dllI loaded the latest Nvidia Drivers then rolled back. I also loaded the latest DirectX no change. Hey Gary, sorry to hear about the CTD. Hang in there and don't give up just yet. I have made a couple of posts that went with no replies, but eventually someone may have a suggestion. This forum has exploded with activity since the release of SP1. Anyway, I have never used the sim rate accelerator, but have you tried at normal 1X rate just to see if things work ok for a period of time without a CTD? You may also want to check out the Dev's forums for the add ons you are using to see if anyone else has had this issue.

Thanks for the encouragement. I hope so, I have tried everything short of reinstalling....

OH Well, It is to the point that any time I change something in FSX (fuel, controlls, whatever) and it takes the screen away, then most of the time when i click ok it starts to refresh then hang and CTD with the d4d9.dll as the culprit. SO i am not flying right now instead I am reinstalling from scratch.Gary

I am experiencing something similar, but I don't get the d4d9.dll indication on the error.Problem:When opening a 2D panel module (radio stack) in the 3D virtual cockpit, and/or when returning to the sim from the desktop (ALT-TAB), and/or when a cockpit tooltip pops up, the simulator locks up hard.I get a burst of hard drive activity, and that is followed by no response by the computer. CTRL-ALT-DEL, CTRL-SHFT-ESC... none of the normal keystrokes pull anything up. A hard reset is needed. The first few times this happened I was able to send an error report to Microsoft. Subsequent occurrences have been a full lockup. Note this is only in FULLSCREEN mode - If I use Windowed mode (which I really don't like to do), everything seems to work fine. Specs:Windows XP, DirectX 9 April 2007, nVidia 93.71 DriversAth 3800+, BFG Mobo, 2GB RAM, nVidia 7900GTFSX has been reloaded on a clean system build, and the problem repeats. Anyone seeing anything similar?

I am giving Up,I have tried uninstalling FSX, twice, Now I am going to F-Disk my hard drive and try a new copy of XP pro. F-Disk, does anyone know the true meaning of the "F" in F-Disk. *grin*Gary

Im throwing my hands up in the air.I have completely reformatted my PC and reloaded everything. That didnt work.I tried vhanging my sound card. That Didnt work.I have tried OLD & New Drivers (Nvidia)That Didnt Work.I have tried everyting I can thin of. It seems that I am the only one getting this problem. I GIVE UP on SP1I am reinstalling FSX and do all the original tweaks and just suffer with low FPS because I cant go through another CTD.Gary

Sorry to hear you're experiencing these issues, Gary.I had a C2D with nv4_disp error and did the following:See post here"After making the mistake by not UN-INSTALLING FSX and Re-installing a complete new version from the original disks, i did the same with FSX as with FS9 when it crashed-to-desktop: delete the FSX.cfg and let FSX build a new one."Even though I did not follow proper FSX SP1 Installation procedures, the new FSX.cfg seems to be working for me. Good Luck

Hey Thanks,I tried it too. No Joy.I encounter a Crash/Hang in module d3d9.dll anytime that FSX has to redraw my screen. For Example, Using the Map, when finished FSX goes back to the flight you were in, this is when it crashes in module d3d9.dll. Another example is when I go from 8x time compression back to 4x or less, FSX has to blank the screen, reload traffic and then refresh, I then get the Crash in module d3d9.dll. Basically anytime the focus changes from one screen back to the flight it happens and then very occasionaly just for no reason. I have performed the following in an effort to fix.* Reloaded FSX from scratch,* Updated all drivers, Video,Sound,Chipset Etc....* Rolled Back all drivers to previous versions.* Updated Directx & Went back a version after Windows Reinstall.* Reinstalled XP Pro (twice)* Removed all non essential hardware.* Tweaked and changed setting according to all the forums suggestions. I feel like I have tried everything I can. BTW I am a computer guy, I own a PC shop in my home town so I am very proficient and PC's and have been doing it for 16 years. I don

Still trying everything I know short of taking out a loan for a new MOBO and VidCard.I have tried several more things including turning off some agp stteings in directx. Still hoping someone out there can give me some ideas.EDIT:Does anyone out there have an ATI card equal to the Nvidia 7950GT that I could borrow? I would gladly give some sorta collateral. I just cant afford to buy one only to test. I was hoping to test out the card, if it was that then I could buy yours or return it and buy one of my own.Gary TrammellPro Rodeo Announcerwww.RodeoAnnouncer.com

Lee,Thanks, Yeah I tried that early on. Have the April Release. Then uninstalled Winxp and went with an older version. the d3d9.dll is dated in 2004 even in the most recent directx release.Gary

For me the SP1 is really not working. After 4 re-installs, deletions of config files and updates of directx I give up. Everytime I get kicked out with a fatal error. It seems to me this happens when I change something in my display setting or when I load a flight plan. But it is not clear. I think Microsoft should seriously look into this because I'm on the brink of giving up.
