Weird TrackIR behaviour on SU8

Featured Replies

I've got this weird issue where every 2-3 seconds my view seems to look off the side and swing back to Home position.  When I open the Camera dialogue, the TrackIR switch is constantly flickering on and off.  What the?

Appreciate any thoughts

I have problems with TrackIr every now and then, when it happens I just reinstall the app and job done. Just copy your profile folder to a safe place.

Good luck

Mick

You need to make adjustments to your camera. You have a light source in your environment that interferes with the camera of your Trackir. Set Light Filter Threshold and IR brightness.
Flashes will have to disappear.

This is usually due to another light source being detected by the camera. Go to Camera View in the TiR App and look to see if it isn't seeing something else. In my case, when weird things happen, it picks up reflections off my glasses. Good luck, can't fly without it, unless I'm in VR.. 😉

I know it sounds like camera/light interference, but the 6 axes display within the TrackIR app is rock sold.  Would attach a pic but its such a PITA having to save graphics elsewhere just to share here.  The TrackIR switch under the Camera dialogue from in game toolbar was vibrating on and off about 5 times a second.

Anyhow, think I've got it licked now - went hunting through all my controllers for "Toggle Head Tracking" and found I had Enter key assigned for my keyboard.  Cleared this assignment and my TrackIR is no longer "possessed" !  🙂

To the best of my knowledge I don't have any macros running that would do this - think it would be very obvious in other programs if Enter key was being triggered.

Not sure if this assignment was acquired during SU8 update, or perhaps carryover from last years TrackIR bug where you had to constantly restart it in-cockpit manually.  Definitely haven't changed any settings around TrackIR myself recently.

(p.s. using Legacy for Cockpit Interaction System setting under Accessibility)

Totally agree Pivot its "not noice" going without TrackIR 🙂
