Romantic Wings - Luftwaffe Jet Age

This Romantic Wings Luftwaffe Jet Age package for MSFS provides five different variants of the Messerschmitt Me 262 and four different variants of the Heinkel He 162, all built to represent their real-world WWII counterparts as closely as possible.

Also included in this pack is a modification of the existing MSFS rendition of Peenemünde airfield (EDCP) with new parking spots, three ships and many WWII objects such as cars, aircraft, V1 and V2 rockets and much more.

There's an 'invisible' link to the add-on in a shopping basket in the OP but here is the product link.

They look very FS2004/FSX.

Saw the topic title and got excited.

Saw the product page and couldn't believe my eyes. I wouldn't consider this for FSX, let alone MSFS.

A bit of a waste of pixels. I don't like to discourage folk from producing stuff, but really . . .

Agreed. If it was freeware, with an admission it was "better than nothing", I'd be fine with it, but to market as something people should consider buying? Sorry, no. As you say, people should be encouraged to develop add-ons - they may become experts in time - but they shouldn't be looking to pay be paid £18 for it.

Don't wish to discourage people from making stuff, but why not concentrate on making just one variant pretty good, rather than making ten mediocre models of Luftwaffe fighters, some of which were merely concepts that never actually flew?

The VC is a reasonably okay initial 'stab' at an making Me262's cockpit, but it only looks vaguely similar (ish) to the layout and appearance of the the real Me262's cockpit; the windscreen shape and placement is incorrect, the gunsight is positioned incorrectly, the panel itself is at the incorrect height, even the colour is wrong, and how hard is it to research the correct RLM colour and pick it for your model? All of this makes it look too amateurish to be a product one would seriously consider charging nearly 20 quid for, and imagining that throwing in a load of similarly mediocre 'bonus scenery' as if this will somehow make a lacklustre effort on the central product somehow more acceptable, is not going to fool many people either.

If it was a freebie, I'd applaud the effort for sure, but for a payware product, it's just not up to snuff.
