Xbox series X available online Walmart $499

Featured Replies

There are 2 catches:

1: You can buy it right now but stock is low. Won't last long. I would guess less than 1 day.

2: It is only available to Walmart +   customers. Walmart + is like Amazon Prime, a sort of package of perks and shipping speed benefits that is a subscription. You can join Walmart + for $13 a month, buy the Xbox, and then remove yourself from membership renewal if you do not become enamored with the perks.

off topic: I have the series S xbox. Now hear this: MSFS boots up in 2 seconds! (it takes about 4 minutes on my desktop version).

I think the reason is that all addons on the console version must come from the marketplace and get stored in the Official folder instead of a Community folder. So the sim knows what you have and stores it ready to go for the next boot up.

It was like this: I bought the 57 GB Xbox Standard edition. And there was also six world updates in content manager and the 7th WU in the market place, totalling about 35 more GB.

But there was also an (optional but free) 59 GB called 'MSFS Offline Utility' or something like that. This I think is what allows the quick bootup. This utility is optional, not required to run MSFS. But it speeds everything up so to speak. Including load times.

I wish we had something like that for the PC version. But since there are 3rd party addons allowed, I doubt it can be done. But 2 second load time is great!

Actually I'm not sure about the 2 second boot up. Our Xbox just came 3 days ago, and I only have 2 apps on it. Youtube and MSFS. So maybe I am supposed to somehow exit MSFS to play another full scale game. Xbox is brand new to me.

There is not an Exit to desktop box on the lower left on the MSFS main page in the Xbox version. And the normal exit to desktop key combo that works on the PC version does nothin. So when I leave MSFS to the Home Xbox page and then turn off the console maybe MSFS is staying in the main memory and I just don't know how to remove it. So anyway, when I turn off the Xbox over night, and the next morning turn it back on and log in, and then click the MSFS icon, 2 seconds later I'm at the welcome screen.

thats not a real startup, that is the quickresume feature.

if you use the home button and enter. then the equivalent of a rightclick on the msfs app, you can quit it.

then it will do a complete startup, which is taking around 2.30 min here.

you need to do a real startup after soem changes.

It`s also now available through Game Pass ultimate over 2 years interest free. which now has instant play no downloading.
