May 20, 200719 yr Hi there, could someone name me an US sea level (or about sea level) airport, preferably an USAF base modelled in FSX?And while you are at it, is there a comparable RAF base location in FSX modelled? I know it has only recent aiprots, but maybe there is one rooting from a RAF airfield? Something with a grass runway would be perfect.Any hint appreciated.Michael.
May 20, 200719 yr I can't think of any USAF bases that are that close to the ocean or other low altitude that would put them at a low altitude. I do know that Naval Air Stations Pensacola, Oceana, and Jacksonville are all around 20-25 feet ASL. NAS Norfolk (KNGU) is the lowest I could find, at 15 feet, but that airport has some issues in FSX. Namely freeway traffic on the runway.

May 20, 200719 yr thank you a lot guys, I will try the NAS for now. Anything below 100 ft should do it.Bill, I have the bad feeling this is a stupid question, but where is this aircraft2004.txt?Thank you again,Michael.

May 21, 200719 yr hm,I searched in the fsx main folder and in both the cfg-folders (admin and all users) and could not find this file. Is it possibly a FS9 file? Thanks,
May 21, 200719 yr >KCHS Charleston Airforce Base. MAC Military Airlift CommandThanks, I will try this as well.Regards,
May 21, 200719 yr The examples shown are from an airports.txt file. That is a file generated by Traffic Tools for use in AI flight plans - it is not a default FS2004 file. The file - fsx-fs2004_airports_comparison_v1-0.zip - in the Avsim Library has an airports.txt file of the airports with elevations in FSX.There are 161 airports in FSX with a 0M elevation (All default airport elevations appears to be in Meters in the APX files). The vast majority are water runways on bays near the ocean and located in the United States, including Alaska.

You seldom post something from what I did not learn a lot ...Cheers,
May 22, 200719 yr >Or try PHIK/PHNL Hickam AFB.>>scott s.>.>Will try that as well. On the bases already mentioned, Charlston turned out as a favourite. It's pretty detailed in the stock FSX.Michael.
May 24, 200719 yr >KSVN (Not AF, but Army - Hunter Army Airfield by Savannah,>GA)thanks, will that give a shot, too.
