June 15, 200619 yr http://money.cnn.com/2006/06/15/technology...dex.htm?cnn=yesI have to applaud Bill Gates (though he won't hear it) -IMO there is no more important study to humankind than biology and medical science, and Mr. Gates' move to spend more time on his charity work has me nearly speechless.Hopefully this will set an example for borderline philanthropists, and set shame on those who thrive on greed alone.Kudos.---Andrew H e l p k e e p A V S I M f l y i n g
June 15, 200619 yr Author I think it also bears reminding that Gates has said consistently that he plans to give away "most" of his wealth before he dies. He has said time and again that he will provide for his children, but most of what he has will be given away by his foundation. Despite this, there is a constant drumbeat of people who attribute to him motives of greed and arrogance. One can assume that jealousy or ignorance must be their motives, since the facts bear out a different story. The Gates foundation has given away more money this year than many companies make in total top line revenue.
