March 28, 20224 yr Hello, running slowly out of space of my 500gb SSD I had a look at the files there. I see there that the first 5 monsteraddons are from Aerosoft, biggest one is EDDB with nearly 6(!)GB of data. So, I have now swapped the CGL folder out of my addons and changed the layout.json accordingly as I heard that CGL files are mostly photoground? Does anyone else has experience with deleting CGLs or could say what they contain exactly? When I fly over EDDB now without the CGL I do not see much difference (but have not made a special before/after comaprison) Only thing is a little ground anomaly one kilometer outside the airport. However what I see looks good with 4 GB less, makes me wonder what they do with this 4 Gb of data. And If I then can delete all the other monster CGL files from Aerosoft to get some free space again. March 28, 20224 yr Commercial Member I wouldn’t touch it to be honest with you. Yes I’m pretty sure it contains the aerial images and probably the mesh and vector data along with it. I would say they include their own for a reason, more up to date, more inline with their scenery etc etc Edited March 28, 20224 yr by Ridvan Celik
March 28, 20224 yr As Ridvan says, the CGL will contain the mesh so i absolutely wouldn't start deleting those files. Do you never intend to install more addon scenery? I doubt it. You don't want to fill SSD's over 75% capacity anyway, their performance drops off significantly after that point. There is only one sensible solution... time to buy more storage.
