I think a big part of the problem is that without big name add-ons for FSX, not enough people have moved to FSX to make developing add-ons for FSX development a big $ opportunity for all add-on developers. Kind of a chicken/egg problem.Honestly, I think the peformance side side of the equation is fading fast as an issue. While SP1 hasn't satisfactorily solved performance for everyone, it has opened up FSX to a lot of people that felt locked out before (myself included). Plus, as Core2Duo's continue to work their way into more simmers' machines, the issue will continue to fade further still. So back to the add-on situation, I think what is needed there is a critical mass of quality add-ons. To this point, it hasn't happened. But within the very near future PMDG's 747, Active Sky X and Ultimate Traffic's FSX patch will be thrown into the mix. I think those right there may be enough to reach that critical mass on add-ons an encourage enough of an increase in FSX adoption that FSX will soon become the primary platform add-on developers target. Personally, the only add-on I will be really missing at that point is the DF's A36... (though I wouldn't mind a good mid-range liner as well... I'm pretty intrigued by AirlinerXP, though they are targeting FS9 first with that one)

I was keen to stay with UT since I already own it, but maybe I'll look at Traffic or MyTraffic. Anybody have any thoughts on UT vs T vs MT?
