I know I used the FS9 repair registry tool lastnight. Yikes!! What happened, maybe I need a reinstall??? GRRR!http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/172152.jpgCan someone verify what their FS10 registry looks like....something that the the F1 registry repair tool did messed up FSX...Here's my registryhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/172153.jpgEDIT agian: ok it wasnt that, cause I repaired it with the TweaksFS registry fix tool....didn't change a thing....ARGHGHH!!A reinstall is in my future maybe? I hope not....jeeees I've done 2 reinstalls already!! ARGH!

May 22, 200719 yr Hi Ryan, not sure how this has happened but the problem you experiencing is related to installing FS9 sky textures from GE Pro into FSX.Check your path for GE Pro, my guess it is pointing at your FSX installation rather than your FS9 install.Also.. did you happen to install the neworld.zip file hosted at flightsim.com? That contains GE Pro textures and is an illegal file which they have since removed.
May 22, 200719 yr Meh I'm reinstalling FSX now anyway, maybe a fresh install will help my SP1 performanceAnd no i never completely downloaded the newworld and was told my steve D that it was illegal, he also removed it from his HDD | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
May 22, 200719 yr Thats the thing, I had to repair the path for FS9 and then things went haywire...just again since reinstalling FSX it asked for my FS9 path....Other than the question it asked how do I tell where the path is pointing? | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
May 22, 200719 yr I wonder why your CD path is on a local directory on your hard drive and not on your disk. It could be a corrupted file on your drive or even a bad download from your CD source to your drive. Aaron
May 22, 200719 yr it is on my disk because I copied all the files from the FSX DVD's to my hard drive, so my reinstalls could be much much faster. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
May 22, 200719 yr Hi All,No problems here. FS9 and 10 can coexist on the same machine. The black textures are caused by FS9 textures being installed into FSX. A Repair install of FSX would fix things. The only unique thing here is that the system registry is messed up a bit.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
