April 4, 20224 yr I'm not sure what to think to be honest. I see they are making the same mistake as in the other new Treks. Namely using contemporary swear words, expressions, slang. Its supposed to be hundreds of years into the future. 🙄 I suspect that the dialogue might not be well written. I'll give it a chance of course. Hope for the best. And what the hell have they done to Spock's ears? They look comical.Â
April 4, 20224 yr Author When I think back on Star Trek the Original Series, and even to shows like Enterprise and the Next Generation, the people in those shows all seemed to have a sort of quiet confidence and internal dignity. A sense of decorum. They were serious people, who took themselves seriously. The j.j. shows, in contrast, seem to predominantly have central characters that i have a hard believing in as competent and experienced naval officers. They're insubordinate, tending to the point of arrogance, inappropriately flippant, and often seem to have "Mary" or "Marty Sue" action hero written large on their foreheads.
