MSFS: Select parking spot but start at runway

Featured Replies

Hello, after upgrading to 2.6.18 I regularly experience that my flight starts on the runway even if I have selected a parking spot.

Running MSFS SU8.

Has anyone else experienced the same?

Are you remembering to click "Set as Departure" after selecting the parking spot?

Do you have an example? Nothing changed in MSFS flight plan export between 2.6.17 and -.18.
Does the airport layout (parking and gates) in MSFS match to what is shown in LNM? Maybe an encrypted add-on and LNM shows the stock parking?
Reloaded the LNM scenery library database after simulator updates?

And of course what fppilot said.

Thanks both. I’ll try a few things and be systematic in an attempt to reproduce.

I think it happens if I export a version first without setting a parking spot as departure, and then export again with the parking spot set. I’ll be back 😉

Hello,

I've the same problem. I start e.g. LOAU (freeware scenery from flightsim.to) and go to LOAV. I save the flightplan, then set the startpoint at the gate, save again and export it to MSFS. If I quit LNM and start again with this flight the message appears, that no startpoint at the gate is set (although) I've set it.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

... or this is a LNM or MSFS bug. No idea.

Just to be sure: Do not use the "Use Navigraph for all Features" mode in LNM and reload the scenery library after airport or simulator updates.
Save the plan as LNMPLN to keep all information and *export* to MSFS PLN. Something will always be lost if you reload the exported PLN.
Some payware airports are encrypted and LNM will show the wrong parking spots in this case.

You can also post the LNMPLN so I can try to reproduce this here. Best would be a stock airport.

This is the plan

I save a parkposition, save the plan and if I restart LNM the message "no parkposition defined" appears.

Don't use the "Use Navigraph for all Features" mode.

Martin

Tested now with a flightplan from LOWW (Gaya) to EDDR with a parkposition and there it works. Must be something with LOAU, although there are parkpositions in the scenery, but LNM doesn't save this.

@flyby99 Thanks for the information. This helps a lot.

Apparently some airports (also stock airports) have an invalid parking name set in MSFS which cannot be detected by LNM when loading its plans. As a result you get this warning message when loading.

Will fix for the next release.

Is this a problem the scenery designer could solve or do you can solve the problem, that exported flightplans MSFS are starting on the runway instead of park position?

Thank's for the update.

I have this already solved for a next release. LNM can now deal with parking positions having no name. Saving, loading and export of LNMPLN and MSFS PLN is already fixed.

Parking names like "Parking", "NW Parking", "Dock" or "Gate A" are normal. The scenery designer can assign a parking name instead of "No Parking" to fix this.
