May 24, 200719 yr I have copied my repaints into FSX with SP1 and some work and others cause no planes to show up in aircraft menu.737-800 and crj700.1 repaint worked in 737.None in CRJ.Lear 45 repaint worked.Anyone else had this problem? Thanks,Ron Bring back Chief Illiniwek!University of Illinois.
May 24, 200719 yr The only time i have seen that is when the repaint is for an older/different version of the aircraft. For example the RealAir Sf 260 has older models that use a different repaint than then current models.
May 24, 200719 yr Author Thanks for the response. All my repaint downloads are for FSX.Thanks again.Ron Bring back Chief Illiniwek!University of Illinois.
May 24, 200719 yr Hi Ron, I've had a similar problem to yours when converting fs9 planes to work with fsx and some planes wouldn't shoow up. I discovered when I turned off the "bloom" option in fsx, all my planes would appear in the aircrafr menu. Yoram
May 24, 200719 yr When discussing aircraft textures and referring to FS9 and FSX it's apples and oranges. Here's what Martin Wright has to say about it:"Subject: MS FSX texture filesName: Martin WrightDate Posted:Oct 21, 06 - 8:13 PMMessage: Most important thing is to include mipmaps. FSX won`t display aircraft DDS textures unless they contain mips. This may upset a lot of repainters as they have spent the last couple of years removing mipmaps to improve appearance."P.S. Martin Wright is the author/creator of DXTbmp.exeThanks again to Martin for all the great stuff he GIVES us.http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/
May 24, 200719 yr Author I already have bloom turned off.All my repaints and textures are for FSX and worked pre SP1.Bill Leaming posted somewhere not to copy any default AC from pre SP1 because textures were changed in SP1.Maybe that has something to do with it.Specifically I have copied a Northwest texture to my 737-800 and it works.Tried Delta,UA,amd Air france and when i did NONE of the 737's showed up.Same happened with the CRJ700.Repaint of Lear 45 works fine.Hopefully someone will have an answer.Flying Pacifica etc is kind of bogus.Ron Bring back Chief Illiniwek!University of Illinois.

I have a half-dozen of my company's models flying around on hundred's of user's systems with no mipmaps at all... :-beerchug Fr. May 25, 200719 yr This post is a little confusing. First, you're not going to get FS9 textures to display in FSX Default aircraft even if they are from the same FS9 model. FSX default aircraft model files "call" *.dds formatted files and I don't think there is a single FS9 texture set that is in *.dds format. Actually this has nothing to do with mips. The FS9 files are just not in the proper format. Now, if you're looking to add FS9 AI aircraft then it doesn't matter. Place the "l" files and the standard file sets into the FSXtexture folder and put a texture.cfg file in each texture set folder and you're good to go. Search on my name "fbass" and you'll find the solution details for night lights and standard files.FrankFSX BETA TesterPS Although I have not searched the entire world, thus far I have not found an AI aircraft that does not display properly in FSX. Remember this is a bit map (*.bmp) file format. Also, unless a developer slipped a "mipped" file on me without telling me, every chance I had I did not choose to use texture sets with mips.
May 25, 200719 yr Author Thanks for the response.I started this post and all my AC repaints are for FSX.I just finished installing them one at a time.I don't know if that was the problem, but by doing it one at a time they are all working.I am not using any FS9 repaints.Tried them and they did not work. Thanks,Ron Bring back Chief Illiniwek!University of Illinois.
