I haven't seen any references to maintenance or simulated failures (at least for the release).. Remember this is a $25 aircraft with great looks and avionics !

I can verify that, no, it will not have maintenance (could be a future feature, if one were to submit a suggestion, but no promises). I believe the failures may be the standard default failures Asobo implemented.
