Hmm, maybe Simbol can offer more information on what else he submitted to Microsoft?

My guess is, first time sellers in the marketplace may also need to submit additional information, such as their bank account (so Microsoft can credit them for the sales of their add-on), business registration papers, personal identification, etc.  

Could it be that when Simbol submitted his Sting S4, some of his paperwork was still also under review? 

For CaptainSim, their paperwork was probably already processed already since they sold an earlier product in the MSFS marketplace. It’s probably much faster to get a second product into the MSFS marketplace, rather than your first product.

Nope. We are in the Marketplace basically since MSFS came out, in August 2020, released many products since then, but our latest scenery, LFNC, took about 6 weeks to be approved. That is a very small airport, which is extremely quick to check out, and currently has no bugs reported.

Ahh, I'm confused. I thought you, @virtuali, represent FSDreamTeam. I noticed FSReborn, the maker of the Sting S4, happens to also have "FS" in the name.  So will the Sting S4 release under the FSDreamTeam brand and company?

I'm not sure why you are asking this. I was just making an *example*, to explain the long approval time in the Marketplace doesn't have anything to do with the fact the developer has already published several products ( as in our case, FSDT ), or it's the first one.

Oh, I see.  I misunderstood what you wrote earlier and I think I understand what you wrote now.

So much speculation!  I for one would be highly surprised, given the labor of love and attention to detail clearly exhibited by Marwan, that due diligence has not already been done on every aspect of this pending launch.

Thanks for providing empirical evidence that any speculation us non-MSFS marketplace submitters have about how long it takes based on some criteria are total bunk! 🙂 

Without any other hard, factual data, I choose to invoke Achim's Razor here....Its simply that MS/ASOBO takes a long time to process ANY release, and no outside criteria seems to impact that.

I also have the opinion that this fact is the number TWO reason I choose to avoid MP purchases unless there is no other way to get software I want.  The number ONE reason of course is that they let "Devs", who sell a plane with no cockpit, and sounds aliased to the default turboprop, and a 4-engined heavy transport plane that flies like a B350, actually peddle their "planes" in the MP.

Its quite clear that quality or company integrity is not a requirement to sell in the MP, and I find it to be a slap in the face to Devs like @virtuali that his excellent software, with demonstrated quality control measures, gets the same scrutiny/treatment as the "other" Dev I mentioned, and sits along side his titles.   Truly , utterly, disgraceful.

Hehe....lets apply that to the "other" dev I just mentioned in my post above.  Seems that both great Devs and horrible ones get to ride in the same boat into MP-land, and no matter how dedicated (or not) you are to putting out a heavily tested, well-designed piece of software, the MP Gatekeepers care not.  

Gatekeeper: "Oh, Hi Marwan...love all the documentation that you provided, love how dedicated you are to putting out a quality product, please stand in line behind that guy there...checking his bank account to see how much he's gonna make off a "plane" he "created" that has no cockpit, and sounds aliased to the default turboprop, and a 4-engined heavy transport plane that flies like a B350, and did zero testing in MSFS before packaging it." 

You see, YOU may care about your product, your integrity, your reputation, but we surely  don't, just step to the back of the line please....NEXT!

based on empirical data provided by @virtuali, it started in the back of the line.  So if the Dev announced a May 31 date, foolishly thinking that they will get some sort of special privilege because folks are excited about their product, and didn't submit it to the Gatekeeper until a few days ago...I suspect they will be in the same boat others are in waiting for their products to hit the MP.

I think only the Dev has that knowledge....and I hope he posts it here...but he's way past any hope of a May 31 release date if he just submitted it to the MP Gatekeeper....unless the Honda Gods will step in and intervene. 🙂

Based on my experience with the MSMP, I'll be shocked if this airplane is available on May 31st. I'll be busy with a Fenix, so it's ok it's late. 😀
