I feel your pain bud....I mounted mine on the notorious sound crackling popping audio Asus ROG Maximus X Hero. Not sure if the audio crackling issue was ever fixed as Asus has since removed the 200+ page thread of complaints about it. Only work around back then was using Bluetooth audio devices.

Believe it or not the 8700k is still a powerhouse of a CPU for VR, the bottleneck doesn't even get that bad until you go past a RTX 3090 surprisingly. It will show it's age in the 0.1% and %1 lows though compared to much more modern CPUs. Still one legendary beast of a six core that will still dominate a BSB2, Rift S, Q3, G2 Reverb and Samsung Odyssey Plus.

You can speak but so much in general experience as a pancaker. 2020 is still better for VR💡

I was super tempted to buy it yesterday having the Friday night craving. Thinking erghhh "maybe it will perform fine on my system". I'm gonna take the advice and wait though....hopefully they clean it up within the next 2-3 updates.

The overall sentiment mentions performance is a real kicker, and we’re fully focused on performance as our top priority. 1.0.3 drops the coming Tuesday with the initial round of improvements, and every patch weekly after that focused on performance as well. It’s a new aircraft and we released 3 days ago - we’re grateful for all reception thus far, many updates are coming to alleviate the top issues! From the devs regarding this patch.... 🙏

Yea before the user replied about general PS5 vs PC vs drone costs and device purpose. My initial post was simply saying hey I feel the same way about "addon buying vs flying" spark getting dull. This FPV drone stuff helps with the balance, immersion and satisfaction void. Not just being consumed by flight simming and buying endless addons that just sit in the hangar.

No, that's not how any of this stuff works.... Yea there's alot of stuff you don't understand simply looking in. My initial post was directed more at experienced VR users like @MarcG and others who have a ground zero understanding of the immersion transition and costs of VR/FPV stuff pertaining to this hobby. Not feeling overwhelmed by so many addons we all can't enjoy at once..

Definitely understandable! Especially trying to get vetted into Marketplace approval and first months sales, but wait this is the very tactic that just word not allowed customers off and makes them despise Marketplace to begin with.🤣 Following through with super prompt patch fix updates after release helps win back a little trust I guess.😂

It's still apples and oranges between the two hobbies imo, and the XWing FPV package comes with FPV headset and controller included for $2400. That's the whole push campaign for this product, its a full easy package that will have you in the air within an hour. I own the the first production batch XWing, luckily I opted into early pledge and paid $1800 before prices started climbing. You're not gonna find a full (swivel fpv cockpit cam+headset+controller included) fixed wing FPV package for anything near $2400 elsewhere. Anyone who's been in the aerial RC hobby can attest, the entry price is actually on the lower side and is a bargain compared to the amount of resourcing, time and money it costs for DIY built fixed wing FPV RC. Especially now with today's parts import/export inflation. As far as my VR flight sim setup, Im on about $2500 worth of PC (tower alone) with a $700 1440P monitor. My Quest 3 was $400, my Pimax Dream Air was $2200 shipped, my 8 year old flight sim control hardware about $600 and about another $600 in MSFS addons since 2020. GPU/CPU prices to run the latest and greatest Flight Simulator XYZ in VR with all bells n whistles isn't going to decline anytime soon, nor will memory, storage or flight sim peripheral hardware. Meanwhile all these awesome $50+ aircraft addons keep popping up that I want and I eventually want to upgrade my 8 year old flight sim control hardware that will easily climb into the $1k+ range. So maybe it's really time to reconsider what "pretty steep barrier to entry" means in 2026?😅

I'm slowly transitioning out of VR flight simming to the FPV Drone Hobby world with this thing. Spending much more time outside. It really makes you wanna revisit alot of prior scenic vacation experiences to fly over. The views from up there are absolutely stunning and especially flying through light clouds. Just as expensive as the VR Flight Simming hobby though, luckily I bought in at the early buyer price...😅

My year subscription is almost up..don't care to pay for whatever comes with the premium sub again.

I'll buy it as soon as the performance issues are sorted, I need it to be a smooth VR experience.

CTDs and word not allowed performance how? How did these issues make it to release? What made them release so prematurely? Like clockwork Devs are super secretive on Discord about the product's state...then boom poor performing product release. This happens way too often almost like developer Discords are useless, especially when the beta testers were screaming at the top of their lungs about performance issues for the past couple of months.💡

If performance sucks in 2D it will super suck in VR, I'm gonna wait for an update before purchasing.

This!🎯 Great plane all around except autopilot avionics! Makes it frustrating because its actually a great plane with awesome visuals.

Not gonna bother with giving them free beta testing labor with the experimental version at this point, I'm ditching the FSS E170/190 products the minute the A220 releases. So long FSS!

We cannot mod nor fix the quirks of new product releases due to marketplace file encryption. Instead we are at the mercy and stuck between a rock and a hard place, with certain super slow non attentive addon developers and marketplace file vetting process to finally release a patch update. Meanwhile on other 3rd party addon stores we get the non encrypted addon version in which files can be easily accessed and talented modders can immediately upload fixes to 3rd party addon sites like Flightsim.to etc etc. Marketplace would not be a problem if in a perfect world no one pirated payware or addon developers released fully polished and featured products.💡
